What Does the Bible Say About Exousia?
Scripture reveals that exousia—true authority—flows from God alone and is exercised perfectly in Christ.
Scripture on Exousia
Identify one area where you're trying to maintain control instead of submitting to God's authority—finances, a relationship, your future—and consciously release it to Him in prayer.
Prayer
Jesus taught us that authority belongs to the Father, and He invites us to pray with confidence in God's rule (Matthew 6:10).
Father, I confess that I often act as though I'm in charge when I'm not. You hold all authority in heaven and earth, and yet I resist Your rule in my life. I see how You established governments, allowed suffering, and direct history according to Your will—and I want to trust You more than I do. Help me surrender the areas where I'm clinging to control. Give me faith to believe that Your authority is good and that submission to You leads to real freedom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
