Scripture reveals that Christ will return visibly and physically, all people will rise and face judgment, and God will create a new heaven and earth where His people dwell with Him forever.
Scripture on End Times
Matthew 24:36-37
New Testament
"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man."
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
New Testament
"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever."
2 Peter 3:10
New Testament
"But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare."
Revelation 21:3-4
New Testament
"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.'"
Daniel 12:2
Old Testament
"Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt."
The Bottom Line
Jesus is coming back to make all things new — and what matters now is being ready to meet Him.

Prayer
Jesus invited us to watch and pray, saying, 'Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come' (Matthew 24:42).
Father, the reality of Christ's return both humbles and steadies me. I confess I often live as though this world is permanent, forgetting that You are bringing everything to an end and making all things new. I'm uncertain about the timing and details of the end times, and that uncertainty can make me anxious. Help me to trust Your sovereignty over history, to live faithfully today because Jesus is coming, and to long for the day when I see You face to face and all suffering ends. Give me courage to live differently because eternity is real. In Jesus' name, Amen.
